Life Taking Its Own Course

A Word of Faith

When faced with seemingly overwhelming and difficult circumstances, beyond our control; such as, an incapacitating health diagnosis, a loss of life, financial hardship, or heartbreaking circumstances, it can be difficult to handle, to say the least. It’s natural to wonder why or what could have been done to prevent various circumstances.  But often, it’s just life taking its own course.

Nonetheless, when feeling overwhelmed by trials, it can be hard to stay focused on the Sovereignty and Power of God, while consumed with the troubles of the day.  And it can seem like God is not listening to our prayers or moving fast enough to fix our troubles. During times like these, I have to remind myself that the Sovereign God of Creation is there just waiting for me to refocus on His faithful promise that, “He will never leave me or forsake me.” (Hebrew 13:5)

Hard lessons have taught me to seek the wisdom of God in every situation, for He alone has all the answers; He knows the number of hairs on our head (Matt. 10: 30), and the number of our days of our lives.  For “It is in Him we live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:28) So surely, God, Almighty, understands and knows all about our circumstances, situations and conditions, before they ever happen.

In our relationship with Christ Jesus, He will show us the good in every situation no matter how trivial, difficult, dark, unfair or challenging it may seem, to us.  If we open our heart to discern His wisdom, we will see the good blessings He promised to bring through our difficult trials.  The word of the Lord, says, “I know the thoughts I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  (Jeremiah 29:11)

Therefore, I have learned to not always ask WHY?  But rather pray:

Dear Lord, help me to redirect my thoughts and refocus my heart and mind on Your Infinite Wisdom, to discern and learn the lesson(s) You are trying to teach me under these circumstances. And, please grant me understanding, peace, grace and strength as You take me through this life course, In Jesus Name!

The word of the Lord says:

In the world you will have tribulations: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.  (Romans 8:28)

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.  But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (James 1:2-4)
