Christmas at Home
Like so many others, Christmas is, my favorite time of the year, also. It’s a time to reflect on the birth of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is indeed, the reason for the season! For it was on that old rugged cross, on Golgotha’s, Calvary hill, almost 2000 years ago that Jesus, the Lamb of God, gave His life, as the ultimate sacrifice for the sin and salvation of the world.
Creating a festive Christmas tablescape helps me get into the joyous Christmas spirit. I love my colors to be reflective and meaningful. The color palate I use in decorating my home and designing my Christmas tablescape is red, green, white, gold and purple. These colors speak most poignantly to me because red is a symbol of the blood Jesus shed on Calvary; green represents everlasting life; white is symbolical of Christ’s purity; and gold/purple represent the royal status of our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords. To keep the focus on Jesus Christ, throughout the season, through worship, praise, the symbolism of colors and giving and sharing God’s love makes the Christmas season right and bright, for me.
Scripture says, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) That is the gospel message and the “whosoever will” are those who have/will choose to believe His message, and choose to invite Him into their heart as Savior and Lord. (John 1:12)
His promise to the “whosoever will” is this: “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9, NIV) “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” (Ephesians 2: 8, NKJV)
Do you believe the message of Christ? And have you made a choice to invite Him into your heart, as Savior and Lord, that you, too, might receive the free gift of eternal life? Eternal Life is the greatest gift anyone will ever receive!!!
Merry Christmas to All!!!
