Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, Upper Old Town Quebec City, Canada

LEARNING LIFESTYLE TRAVEL

One of the highlights of my trip to Canada was taking Afternoon Tea at Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, perched up high in Upper Old Town, Quebec City.  When I walked into the lobby, I could sense the grandeur and opulence of this historical, world renown, 125 year old hotel.  The interior of the Champlain restaurant, where afternoon tea was served, was everything one could expect.  It was cozy, romantic, sophisticated,  with that old world charm of castle life, with lovely views of the St. Lawrence River.  Afternoon tea at Le Chateau Frontenac was the icing on the cake, for me. The tea and pastries were delightful, to say the least.  And I must say, the green tea served (Kyushu Japan Sencha – Lot 35) was perfectly brewed, truly the smoothest green tea I have ever tasted.  This extraordinary landmark hotel has been reinvented over the decades, but the original hotel was designed by Bruce Price, an American architect in 1893.
