Boston, Massachusetts

LEARNING TRAVEL Vacation

Boston, Massachusetts is another location spot checked-off on my bucket list of places to visit. No snow, rain or inclement weather you might expect in Boston. But, of course, It was July and the weather was bright, sunny and warm, like a nice California day. So, we were quite comfortable moving about and touring the city.

Boston is known for many things including its wonderful seafood and clam chowder. But we ended up eating at this irresistible Mexican restaurant, near the hotel, Rosa Mexicano. The food was delicious, and the guacamole was superb!!! I’ll make sure I go for famous Boston seafood and clam chowder on my next visit.

Before boarding the ship, the next morning, we took a 3-hour tour around the city. I was fascinated with their underground highway; thinking, this would not work in California, earthquake country, no way!!! But nice, for Boston.

Then on to Cambridge where we took a walk around Harvard University campus. We took selfies in front of the John Harvard statue (a founder of the school), the Widener Library and other important buildings in the Harvard Yard.

Then drove over to Harvard Stadium. This permanent concrete structure built in 1903, was home to the Boston Patriots during their 1970 season and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987. From there, we visited Harvard Business School. Now, I can truthfully say, “I went to Harvard Business School!” And, I got pictures to prove it!!!😊😊😊

Before the tour ended, we visited Fenway Park, for another photo op. Fenway is home to the Boston Red Sox. It is the oldest MLB park, and one of the most famous sports venues in the world. Our final stop before boarding the ship was on the famous Boylston Street. I felt a shopping spree coming on, but our tour time had run out. Three hours is definitely not enough time to take in all the history, beauty, culture and major attractions of a city such as Boston, Massachusetts. Another trip, back on the bucket list.
