The One Who Lifts Up My Head

AG Daily Inspiration Elevenses Teatime

Whenever we are feeling discouraged, invisible, unloved, alone, abandoned, insufficient, and ready to give up on our hopes and dreams, because of what others may say or think of us; know that the negativity of others is irrelevant to the Lord our God. God sees us through the lens of love and shields us from the impacts of negative energy and words, evil eyes, and mean-spirited intentions. When we yield to Him, He shines through us, cradles our chin in the palm of His hand, lifts our head, and listens to our cry for help.

Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill.

Psalms 3:2-4

For many the Christmas Holidays is the most wonderful time of the year.  While for others, it raises up past hurts, anxiety, and unimaginable negative memories.  Most often, because it is so concealed, we never know who around us is hurting in such a way.

To remain positive and progressive, anytime of the year, we must, also, learn how to not be our own worst enemy, by not allowing negativity to invade our thoughts, defeating our progress. The enemy seeks to destroy anything good and positive in our lives. Therefore, we must recognize negativity; be intentional and tell the enemy, “Get behind me, Satan.” (Matthew 16:33) The negative thoughts of others, the negative thoughts that we allow into our mind, and our impatience with God’s timing, are not of God. So, whenever we stumble upon negativity, however it shows up:  Refocus, feed on what God’s word says about us and rest assured that God keeps His promises to us:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:10-13)

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8)

“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. (Psalms 37:5)

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

“The Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore, I have continued to extend faithful love to you. (Jeremiah 3:13)

Dear Lord, thank you for being my hope, my help, and the one who lifts up my head. In Jesus Name, Amen.
