Never give up on God

AG Daily Inspiration

Fifty plus years is a long time to wait for that “special someone” to enter your life. I feel like I understand “Sarah’s” plight with the child she and Abraham so desperately wanted. I’ve thought about her desperate acts, her lack of faith at certain points, taking matters into her own hands, only to bring more heartache, sadness, and disappointment into her life. I’ve certainly been there. But, despite those negatives, I thank the Lord, my God for growing me to understand that His thoughts are higher than my thoughts.  And His infinite wisdom is beyond my comprehension. God understands my (our) needs and desires better than I (we) do. And because He wants the very best for me (us), He will withhold some things from us because we are simply not ready to receive them or it’s not the right time.  Too often we try to fulfill those needs and desires on our own which only leads to more hardships, compounded heartaches, and disappointments.

One thing that God requires of us is faith.  The genuine belief that He is able and will bless us according to His will, at the right time. For His timing is perfect, always.

I am so very thankful that My LORD, has brought me to a place of Joy in the Lord, and contentment.  Yes, I finally know what that really means and how it feels down to my core.  I have so much to be thankful and grateful for, and so much more to learn.  But I am at peace from where I was decades ago.  I am walking in Philippians 4:11-13: “for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things, I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” And I trust that when I am ready or my time has come to receive more of His wonderful blessings, nothing will be able to stop it.

Until Jesus returns, I am standing on His promises!

This is what I have learned!

My Bishop always taught, “The final step in learning is application.” WLD

God’s plan is higher than our plans.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) NKJV

Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) NKJV

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) NKJV

God keeps His promises, and every promise according to His will is yes and amen.

“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” (John 14:13, 14)

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (I John 5:13-15)

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19) NKJV

God has a plan for your life.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) NKJV

Those who trust in the Lord are blessed.

“The person who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed. He will be like a tree planted by water: it sends its roots out toward a stream, it doesn’t fear when heat comes, and its foliage remains green. It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7,8) CSB

Dear Lord, thank You for knowing me better than I know myself. Please forgive me for all those times when I failed to walk by faith, taking matters into my own hands. Thank you for Your infinite wisdom, for Your plans for my life, for building my faith in You over the years, for each and every promise You have made that will not and cannot fail, and for the blessings you have already ordained for me. Thank You for Your “yes” to my prayers, according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
